Turning the tables on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress on the issue of ‘vote chori’, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday raised questions on purportedly fake voters in six Opposition-stronghold constituencies such as Rae Bareli, Wayanad, Diamond Harbour, Kannauj, Mainpuri and Kolathur. These constituencies were won by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Abhishek Banerjee, Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and MK Stalin.

“Will all these opposition leaders resign after what they call ‘vote chori’? They want to stop SIR because it will clean up such voter rolls," BJP leader Anurag Thakur said, putting out a 70-slide presentation by the party.

This was seen as a strong rebuttal to Rahul Gandhi’s charges of voter roll manipulation in a seat in Bengaluru and allegation of ECI-BJP collusion. The BJP is claiming fake voters exist in the seats of big opposition leaders too and they want to save these votes in order to win.

“The Opposition is using Ghuspaithiya vote bank for political survival. Rahul Gandhi is a propaganda king. Analysis of six opposition-ruled constituencies has exposed the Ghuspaithiya vote bank," Thakur said.

The BJP claimed that there were 93,499 doubtful voters in Wayanad, including 20,438 duplicate voters, 17,450 voters with fake addresses, 4246 voters with mixed households and 51,365 voters added via a mass addition. Rahul Gandhi, and then Priyanka Gandhi Vadra won from this seat.

The BJP also claimed that there were over two lakh doubtful voters in Rae Bareli which was won by Gandhi, including 19,512 duplicate voters, 71,977 voters with fake addresses and 92,747 voters via mass addition. “The voter rolls here show bizarre anomalies, and over 52000 fake birth certificates tied to bogus addresses," Thakur said.

pic.twitter.com/nhGdONgRKq

The BJP claimed that there were as many as nearly 2.6 lakh doubtful voters in Diamond Harbour which is represented by TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, including a whopping 1.55 lakh voters with fake addresses and nearly 56000 voters added via mass addition.

Thakur also claimed that there were 2,91,798 doubtful voters in Kannauj and 2,55,914 doubtful voters in Mainpuri, seats won by Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav respectively.

In MK Stalin’s constituency of Kolathur, the BJP claimed there were nearly 20,000 doubtful voters.

The BJP said it’s investigations had revealed five patters of exposing ‘Ghuspaithiya vote bank’ – duplicate voters, fake addresses, fake relatives, manipulated ages, and mass voter additions.
