Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha often gives his followers a glimpse into a politician’s life. Now, he has offered an inside look into his daily routine as a Member of Parliament. In a video posted on Instagram titled “A Day in the Life of a Member of Parliament", Raghav took viewers through his packed-schedule during a Parliament session, beginning as early as 6 or 7 AM.

The video started with Raghav Chadha saying, “As a member of parliament, when the parliament is in session, the day is full of action and activity."

In the candid reel, he mentioned that he starts his day with a cup of tea and an intensive review of the day’s news. He reads seven to eight newspapers, including English dailies like the Hindustan Times, The Times of India, The Indian Express and The Hindu, alongside Hindi publications like Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Punjab Kesari and Hindustan.

Once he is updated with all the information about what happened in the past 24 hours, Raghav Chadha begins preparing for the business of the day in Rajya Sabha.

Raghav added, “Parliament begins at 11 in the morning. Zero hour starts from 11 to 12, where if your topic is selected, you get three uninterrupted minutes to speak. From 12 to 1, it’s Question Hour, where selected questions by MPs are answered by ministers. Then from 1 to 2, there is a lunch break."

Raghav Chadha’s Schedule Post Lunch

Post-lunch, Raghav reveals that the legislative work begins. It often involves detailed discussions and debates over government bills and policies.

The final hour of the day is reserved for Special Mentions. During this time, issues of urgent public importance that MPs wish to raise can be read out in the House in written format.

Captioning the video, Chadha wrote, “A day in the life of a Member of Parliament… Our day begins before the Parliament does. A cup of chai, a stack of newspapers, and preparation for the debates ahead."
