Viral Video Shows Alex Pretti In Altercation With Federal Agents Weeks Before Being Shot Dead

A new alleged video of a man who appears to be Alex Pretti has surfaced online in which he can be seen spitting at the ICE agents, and kicking the taillights of their SUV during a clash with federal law enforcement that broke out a week before he was shot dead by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday.

The footage, dated January 13, shows him damaging the SUV as officers attempt to bring the tense situation under control.

The footage was posted by several users on platforms such as X, but News18 has not been able to independently confirm that the person in the video is definitely Pretti.

Alex Pretti was shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026 according to a preliminary Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report sent to Congress.

The notice, reviewed by news outlets including ABC News and AP, says that during the encounter federal officers attempted to take Pretti into custody and a struggle followed.

At one point, an officer is reported to have shouted “He’s got a gun!" several times.

About five seconds later, a Border Patrol agent discharged a CBP-issued Glock 19, and a Customs and Border Protection officer fired a Glock 47.

The DHS report does not confirm whether bullets from both guns hit Pretti, and it does not state that he drew or used a weapon before the shots were fired.

The account is based on a preliminary internal review of body-worn camera footage and agency records that CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility shared with congressional committees.
