Pakistani Taliban claimed a suicide blast outside Islamabad district court, killing 12 and injuring 27. Mohsin Naqvi and Khawaja Asif called for urgent action.

The Pakistani Taliban militant group have claimed responsibility for the attack outside district court building in a residential area of Pakistan’s capital on Tuesday that killed at least 12 people were killed and 27 others injured.
The incident took place amid international events being hosted in Islamabad, including the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference.
Dawn quoted interior minister Mohsin Naqvi as saying the “suicide blast" which occurred at 12.29 pm killed 12 people and 27 injured.
Spokesperson for the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr Mubahshir Daha, said: “36 injured people were brought to PIMS, out of which 18 have been discharged after treatment, while 14 have been moved to wards, three are in the emergency section, and one is in the operation theatre."
Speaking on the details of the blast, Naqvi said the attacker stood outside the court for about 12 minutes before he detonated the explosives.
“He first attempted to go inside the court, but then targeted the police vehicle after he was unable to do so," he said.
“I assure you we will identify him in the next few hours," he said. “We are linking this blast today with a lot of things and, in the coming hours or days, we will be very clear about it," the interior minister said.
“Our fighter attacked the judicial commission in Islamabad. Judges, lawyers and officials who carried out rulings under Pakistan’s un-Islamic laws were targeted," AFP quoted the group as saying in a statement, threatening to carry out more attacks “until Islamic Sharia law is implemented" in the Muslim-majority country.
In a post on X, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan is in a “state of war" and that this attack should be taken as a “wake-up call" with regards to negotiations with neighboring Afghanistan.
