Chrome is the latest Google product to get some useful AI upgrades which makes the web browser capable of handling tasks through AI agents. Yes, the popular trend in the market is coming to the most popular browser, at least for the users in the USA for now.
You have summoned Gemini to help you identify products, search for queries and even live-screen a complex problem on the mobile. Now, all these features will work through the Chrome AI agent powered by Gemini on the web and macOS as well.
AI Agent At Your Service
AI agents have been designed to simplify tasks and let you do the important work. Google will add that element with Gemini in Chrome and simply raise the request for your basic tasks, like compiling a grocery list based on the demands, selecting the items and even placing the final order. How much time would you manually spend doing this, probably 15-20 minutes, and that’s where the AI agent takes over.
The other main avenue to get AI Agents working is planning for your vacation, which includes scanning and booking flight tickets along with hotels with the best deals. These can be done with multiple tabs open on the browser and ask the AI agent to scan through them for the best results with all the details.
Working Between Apps
Having other Google apps like YouTube, Maps and even Calendar working together is another good use case for AI on Chrome. These tasks work out well when you are supposed to reach for a meeting and need the right location details. In the same way, you can ask the AI to take you to the exact point in a video that matters for your work or need.
We have seen other third-party browsers get agentic AI features, especially Comet from Perplexity and others like Firefox and Opera also offering similar traits. But this is Chrome, and Google’s Gemini integration always felt inevitable and it will soon become a reality for millions.
