Khaby Lame, one of the world’s most-followed TikTok personalities, left the United States after being detained by immigration officials in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa, according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Khaby Lame Chooses ‘Voluntary Departure’
Khaby Lame, whose real name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was taken into custody at Harry Reid Airport. The 25-year-old Senegalese-Italian influencer was not deported but was instead granted “voluntary departure," an ICE spokesperson said in a statement. This allows him to leave the country without receiving a formal deportation order, which could have barred him from re-entering the US for up to 10 years.
Khaby Lame arrived in the US on April 30 and overstayed the permitted duration of his visa. His detention comes amid renewed enforcement actions under US President Donald Trump’s administration, with protests against ICE operations spreading from Los Angeles to other US cities.

What Khaby Lame Said On His Detention?
Khaby Lame has not issued a public statement regarding the incident. However, social media influencer Bo Loudon- a close aide to Barron Trump- claimed on X that Khaby Lame had been arrested in Las Vegas and was being held at the Henderson Detention Center.
Bo Loudon referred to Khaby Lame as an “illegal alien" and alleged that he had alerted authorities about the TikTok star’s immigration status.
“I discovered he was illegal, had overstayed an invalid visa, evaded taxes, and I personally took action to have him deported," he wrote in a post.
