PM Modi takes stock as raging Ganga floods Varanasi

The water level in the Ganga river is rising in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, leading to a flood-like situation. Prime Minister Modi, the Member of Parliament for Varanasi, has taken stock of the crisis and met with the District Magistrate to discuss the response. Authorities have instructed people in low-lying areas to evacuate as houses have become submerged. A speaker noted, "You can see that all the houses built here are half submerged in water." Officials, including the police commissioner and district officer, are monitoring the affected areas, such as Namoghat and Nakhi Ghat, by boat to manage the situation and assist residents.
