Hours after the White House shooting, new videos of the incident emerged showing how the US cops captured the Afghan man accused of shooting and injuring two Security Guard members in Washington on Thursday.

President Donald Trump, in a video message, said, “I can report tonight that based on the best available information, the Department of Homeland Security is confident that the suspect in custody is a foreigner who entered our country from Afghanistan — a hellhole on earth."

The attack took place close to the White House and came just a day before Thanksgiving. Trump said no country should “ever tolerate this kind of attack", especially against those serving on the front line to protect the nation.

Who Is The Suspect?

According to multiple law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation, the FBI believes the suspect’s initial identification matches a man from Washington state who appears to have immigrated to the United States from Afghanistan in 2021.

He has been identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national who entered the United States in 2021 under Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome.

The early identification was reportedly made via fingerprint records taken after the suspect was taken into custody. Meanwhile, probe is underway to fully confirm his identity.

‘Act Of Evil, Hatred, Terror’: Trump

Trump called the shooting an “act of evil, hatred, and terror". He added that such violence was not only a crime against the two guardsmen but also “a crime against our entire nation".

The US President further criticised former President Joe Biden over the vetting of migrants and called his former “a disastrous president, the worst in the history of our country."
