More than a week after the deadly attack near Delhi’s Red Fort, Pakistani leader Chaudhry Anwarul Haq made a big confession about the country’s involvement in cross-border terrorism, claiming that it had struck India “from the Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir."

Haq’s remarks referenced a high-intensity blast from a slow-moving car that ripped through the Red Fort metro station area on November 10 and killed at least 15 people. His remarks on Kashmir’s forests mentioned the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 tourists were gunned down by Pakistan-linked terrorists.

Haq, who was ousted by a no-confidence vote as the Prime Minister of the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, made a statement in the PoK Assembly on Monday, where he could be heard saying, “I had earlier said that if you (India) keep bleeding Balochistan, we will strike India from Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir, and our Shaheens have done it. They still can’t count the bodies."

This came after authorities seized 2,900 kilograms of explosives hours before the Delhi blast from what police described as a “white-collar terror module", spanning Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, linked to the Pakistani terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

Pakistan’s Response

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s federal government has distanced itself from the statement, calling it a political blunder by a disgraced leader after his no-confidence vote defeat in PoK, according to reports.

However, Haq’s remarks are being viewed as a confirmation of India’s claims that Pakistan’s security agencies are operating closely with terror groups that are responsible for violent attacks on India and Islamabad’s involvement in cross-border terrorism.

Relations between India and Pakistan deteriorated sharply after the Pahalgam terror attack, which prompted an Indian military response through Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK and killed over 100 terrorists. This sparked four days of cross-border attacks between the two countries until an understanding to halt hostilities was reached on May 10.

Terror Probe In Delhi Blast

Haryana’s Al-Falah University is at the centre of the investigation into the Delhi Red Fort blast case as several of the accused in the case, including doctors and academics, were either alumni or employees of the institution, which is now being probed for possible links to a wider terror network.

Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered the mobile phone of Red Fort suicide bomber Dr Umar-un-Nabi, and data extracted from the damaged device has revealed a video he recorded to justify the attack as a so-called “martyrdom operation," officials said on Tuesday.

The Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish from Srinagar, accusing him of allegedly providing technical support for carrying out terror attacks by modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly blast in Delhi.
