US President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened Canada with 50% tariff on all aircraft sold in the United States, marking the latest escalation in his trade war with America’s neighbour amid a feud with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Trump said he was retaliating against Canada for refusing to certify jets from Savannah, Georgia-based Gulfstream Aerospace, calling the move “wrongful" and “illegal". In response, the US would decertify all Canadian aircraft, including planes from its largest aircraft maker, Bombardier.
