US President Donald Trump on Thursday (local time) sought to deflect the growing row over the files related to disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which has become a major threat to his presidency, by dismissing it as a “scam" and calling it a “Democrat con job."
Trump said that “Radical Left Democrats" were doing everything possible to distract people from an exceptionally successful six months of his presidency and said they had gone “absolutely CRAZY" with the latest political attack on Epstein files.
“The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying is the BEST six months in Presidential history. They have gone absolutely CRAZY, and are playing another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax but, this time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM," he said on his Truth Social platform.
“As things are revealed and, I hope will take place quickly, you will see that it is yet another Democrat CON JOB. Hopefully, the Grand Jury Files will put an end to this HOAX. Everyone should see what is there, but people who are innocent should not be hurt. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Trump is facing a dire crisis as his MAGA base is angered over the White House’s handling of the so-called “Epstein files," viewing it as a betrayal by the Republican and his allies who have long championed the unfounded theory that powerful elites orchestrated a massive child sex trafficking cover-up.
Trump, who had campaigned on the promise of releasing the Epstein files, has now attempted to downplay the matter and calling it a “hoax" promoted by Democrats. His Justice Department and the FBI have said there is no evidence that Epstein kept a client list or was blackmailing powerful figures, angering MAGA supporters.
