Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The market returns to the bourse for Sensex monthly expiry session after a drubbing in the previous session. This time, the post-CAS numbers looked different from other days, as the market slumped sharply by the end of the day's trade.
The closing auction session (CAS) saw the Nifty lose nearly 70 points during the session.
In this session, the bulls would hope to see Nifty protect the 24,200 mark. The 24,500 mark will be key to watch out on the upside.
As we move towards the end of trade in the month of August, one of the biggest focal points will be the Jackson Hole symposium that will be held between August 27–29, 2026.
Furthermore, as we enter this midweek session, eyes will also be on the larger market, as the expiry session Broader markets also ended mixed. The Nifty Midcap index declined 0.10%, while the Nifty Smallcap index gained 0.81% to close at a record high.
Moving further ahead into this week, macro and global factors, along with company-wise outputs, will remain to movement in the market. As for the US markets remained largely flat even as Brent softened below $88 per barrel.
And as we go into this expiry session, some of the stocks to watch out for the day include GK Energy, Bharat Electronics, Hindustan Copper, Jio Financial, Max Health, ICICI Pru among others.
