The Indian markets are under immense pressure, as the Nifty has fallen over 130 points, falling towards the 24,000 mark. The Nifty bank is slightly better off, falling only 0.10%. Hindalco, Adani Ent, and Tata Steel are the biggest laggards today.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The last day of August is bringing no respite even at the halfway mark for the bulls as the markets continue to remain under pressure, despite making minor recovery from the lows of the day.
The markets are under immense pressure, as the Nifty trails with a massive deficit of over 130 points, falling towards the 24,000 mark, and it looks down the barrel of a month in decline. The Sensex is also down, falling over 300 points, dropping below the 77,000 mark.
The Nifty has now fallen below the 24,000 mark intraday, taking it to its lowest point in nearly months (since July 1).
The Nifty 50 index has had a forgettable month of August, with the index having declined around 200 points from the end of July. The index remains locked in the 24,000 - 24,400 range.
The HDFC Bank shares have fallen over 3% from highs after making gains early on.
Although the Nifty Bank has had a slightly better month compared to the Nifty, it also remains stuck in the 57,000 - 58,000 band.
