India Q1 GDP Data Live Updates: India’s real GDP grew 7.8% in Q1 FY27, beating expectations of around 7.5% and signalling continued resilience in the economy despite global uncertainties, elevated crude oil prices and a challenging trade environment.
Data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on Monday showed nominal GDP growth at 10.3% during the April-June 2026 quarter. Real GDP at constant prices stood at ₹81.36 lakh crore, compared with ₹75.46 lakh crore a year earlier.
On the output side, real GVA grew 8.2% in Q1 FY27 to ₹73.82 lakh crore, while nominal GVA rose 11.5% to ₹80.53 lakh crore.
The latest GDP series also incorporates methodological changes, including a change in the base year to 2022-23 and other revisions that have modestly lifted GDP levels and growth rates for earlier years.
The services sector showed broad-based momentum in June, with the trial Index of Services Production (ISP), based on 2024-25, showing 18 of 19 sub-sectors recording positive growth. Eight sub-sectors posted double-digit growth, led by real estate at 24.7%, followed by retail trade at 18%, wholesale trade at 15.1%, administrative and support services at 14.4% and IT and computer-related services at 13.5%.
