Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the West Asia situation, focusing on the ceasefire agreement and exchange of detained persons, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Russian foreign ministry on Saturday said Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone call where they discussed the situation in West Asia.

“President of Russia Vladimir #Putin and Prime Minister of Israel @netanyahu had a telephone conversation".

“There was a exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East in light of the agreement on ceasefire and exchange of detained persons," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a social media post.

“A thorough exchange of views took place regarding the situation in the Middle East region, including developments in the Gaza Strip in the context of implementing the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of detainees, the state of affairs surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, and issues related to promoting further stabilization in Syria," the statement released by the ministry and accessed by state-run TASS said.
