US President Donald Trump recently took a moment out of his busy schedule to greet children visiting the Oval Office, handing out small gifts and introducing himself by saying, “My name is Donald."
The video capturing the adorable interaction was shared on X by communications advisor Margo Martin on Friday.
The short clip, which has amassed over 1.6 million views so far, offered a softer glimpse of the President amid a busy news cycle following the government shutdown.
Martin, known for sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Trump, captured the exchange as the children—journalist Salena Zito’s grandchildren—stopped by to say hello, according to the White House. Fox News, citing The White House, reported the children had stopped by to say hello.
As Trump met the kids, he handed them challenge coins.
“She said yes, she’s smart and “She’s so cute," the US President later joked after a young girl said she wanted to have a challenge coin in response to Trump’s question.
Trump then asked another boy if he too wanted it. As the boy approached Trump, he asked, “What’s your name?"
In the video, an off-camera voice says, “He wants to know what your name is," prompting Trump to reply, “My name is Donald," with a grin. He then handed the children pens.
The lighthearted moment drew warm reactions online, with commenters saying “that’s a grandpa doing grandpa stuff" and “kindness transcends politics." Such viral interactions often cut through the political noise and bring widespread digital attention to the White House.
The clip ends with Trump offering the children presidential pens, asking, “OK, do you want a pen? One of them. One, two, three."
