Poco M8 5G is the other big launch in India this week and comes as a solid option for people in the budget segment which is no longer less than Rs 15,000 in the market. Poco is very much part of Xiaomi in India these days and you have the sub-brand coming out with more options for buyers as the segment looks for better products that will appeal to them.

Poco M8 5G gets a dual tone design with a sleek frame but carrying a large size battery. It gets an AMOLED display and dual rear cameras.

Poco M8 5G price in India starts at Rs 18,999 for the base 6GB + 128GB model, which goes up to Rs 19,999 and Rs 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, respectively. Poco M8 5G sale in India starts from January 13.

Poco M8 5G comes with a 6.77-inch curved display that gets 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The screen supports wet touch 2.0 which allows you to use the phone with wet hands. The in-display fingerprint sensor is also available for better device security. 

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device gets a sleek 7.35mm frame, weighs around 178 grams and comes with IP65 + IP66 ratings for dust and water resistance. 

Poco M8 5G comes with the Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 version while the company is promising 4 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. The phone has a dual rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor along with a 2MP shooter. And finally, Poco M8 comes loaded with a 5,520mAh battery that gets 45W wired charging support and 18W reverse wired charging as well.

The phone prices in 2026 are going to be much higher than what people are used to seeing and the launches this week clearly tell you the market is going to be very tough, especially if you want to buy a new device.
