Apple is planning for a big overhaul with the iPhone 18 Pro series this year but will that come at a higher cost?
iPhone 18 Pro series is going to be getting a serious upgrade.
iPhone 18 series launch rumours have already started and going by the market trends many expect Apple to increase the iPhone 18 Pro model price later this year. The company will be upgrading its hardware for the new iPhone 18 Pro devices and most likely its first iPhone Fold model and that could have a direct impact on how much the products will cost the buyers.
Price hikes have been constant across the board in the last few weeks and 2026 is likely to be the year when everything costs more without really giving you nominal upgrades. Apple could buck that trend and at least continue with its yearly changes but at a cost.
iPhone 18 Pro Price Hike Inevitable: Know Why
Apple is expected to rely on TSMC to make its A20 and A20 Pro chipset which is going to be based on a 2nm chip process. And reports from Taiwan suggest making the new chipset is going to cost more and Apple would have to absorb that cost, either by passing it on to the consumers or willing to take a hit on its revenue margins for iPhone 18 Pro units sold.
The company has managed to keep the hikes to a minimum, at least in some regions, but multiple factors are going to make it hard to retain that stance. This means the iPhone 18 Pro price in India could be well over Rs 1,35,000 while the 18 Pro Max model could cost even more for buyers when it launches this year.
The iPhone Fold could see its price also on the higher side but even then Apple will have people waiting for its first ever foldable in the market. Apple could copy Google to make one of its upcoming products.
The iconic brand making iPhones is going to be inspired by Google’s first foldable in the market, for its own first iPhone Fold model in 2026. The company is tipped to make a book-style foldable, something that Google and Microsoft used for their Pixel and Surface Book models.
