A newly circulating video clip showing Jeffrey Epstein laughing and chasing several young women around a kitchen has drawn fresh attention online, even as the US Justice Department continues releasing millions of pages of records tied to the disgraced financier’s sex-trafficking case.
The short clip, widely shared by users on X and by some media outlets, appears to show Epstein stepping onto a kitchen counter, hopping down and running after women who giggle and move away from him.
Their faces have been darkened in the footage to conceal their identities.
The authenticity of the video could not be independently confirmed, and there was no immediate indication of when or where it was recorded.
The renewed online focus on Epstein comes as federal authorities make sweeping disclosures under a law requiring transparency about what the government knew regarding his abuse of underage girls and his relationships with wealthy and politically connected figures.
The Justice Department on Friday released more than three million additional pages of documents, along with thousands of videos and images, drawn from investigative files accumulated over the years.
According to the Associated Press, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the latest tranche included more than 2,000 videos and roughly 180,000 photographs, while tens of thousands of pages were redacted or withheld to protect victims’ privacy, remove child sexual-abuse material and avoid harming ongoing investigations.
Lawmakers who pushed for the disclosure argued that the newly released material still represents only a portion of the total Epstein-related records held by the government.
The disclosures stem from the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed after months of political pressure and public scrutiny.
The law mandates that federal agencies open their files on Epstein and on his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 of helping recruit and groom teenage girls for sexual abuse.
Epstein died in a New York jail cell in August 2019, weeks after being indicted on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Beyond the newly circulated video, the released documents include draft indictments, FBI interview summaries, internal correspondence, staff manuals governing daily operations at Epstein’s Florida mansion and detailed accounts from former employees.
Some workers told investigators that they handled large amounts of cash, cleaned rooms after massages involving young women or girls and observed behaviour that led them to believe some victims were under 18.
The records also contain extensive email and text exchanges between Epstein and prominent figures, as well as diplomatic communications, jailhouse memoranda surrounding his death and internal debates about what material could legally be made public.
Justice Department officials said they are preparing a formal report for Congress outlining the scope of the redactions and listing government officials or politically exposed people referenced in the released files.
