The status quo in the Strait of Hormuz remains unchanged even after a 14-day ceasefire deal was announced earlier today by Donald Trump. Several vessels stranded in the Gulf have now received messages stating that they must obtain prior permission from the Iranian Navy to cross, or risk being targeted and destroyed, international news agency Reuters reported.
"Any vessel trying to travel into the sea ... will be targeted and destroyed..." the message said.
The report further said that shipowners received messages indicating that the key energy chokepoint remains closed.
