Brett Ratner, the director of the newly-released documentary on US First Lady Melania Trump, has appeared in the files concerning the probe into late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s network.

The US Department of Justice, on Friday, released the latest cache of the Epstein Files – which brought into the spotlight multiple high-profile individuals, including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and US President Donald Trump, among others.

As shown in the images, Ratner appears to be hugging a young woman. The ‘Melania’ director is seen curling up on a couch beside Jeffrey Epstein and two women, whose identities have been concealed, the BBC reported.

Although it remains unclear when the pictures were taken, they appear to have been taken in the same location as photos of Epstein and Ratner alongside the French modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, released in December.

Notably, no indication of any wrongdoing was outlined in the images, the British broadcaster said in its report.

Brett Ratner’s First Project Since Sexual Abuse Claims

The photos were a part of the ‘Epstein Files’ dump released by the US Justice Department. Interestingly, the documentary titled ‘Melania: 20 Days To History’ offers insights into the life of the US First Lady before Trump’s January 2025 inauguration.

It was Ratner’s first project since he faced sexual harassment charges by six women back in 2017.

Who Was Jeffrey Epstein?

Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier and convicted sex offender, ran a prolific international sex trafficking network. In 2019, he died in a New York jail cell while awaiting trial.

On January 30, the US Department of Justice released a large cache of documents, dubbed the ‘Epstein Files’, offering 3 million pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images related to the investigation.

This followed the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November 2025 – something which had been on the agenda of the present Trump administration.
