Grok AI was generating nudify images of people without their knowledge and it seems the company is finally closing this issue.

Grok AI is using its powers to modify images of women and people are outraged.

Grok AI is using its powers to modify images of women and people are outraged.

After all this time, Grok can be blocked from generating or modifying images of people which has been misused by billions in the last few months. The company hasn’t officially talked about the new change to the Grok AI chatbot but this is a much needed tweak to its settings that not only iOS but even Android users should be offered at the earliest.

Some users have noticed the option to block Grok from modifying images of users without their consent which suggests Elon Musk and Co. could have some official details for everyone in the next few weeks.

Good Riddance

The new Grok AI option is not hidden deep inside the settings of the app and you just have to enable the block option by tapping the toggle button. Once you do that, Grok will stop taking AI image requests.

However, it seems the new option is only working when someone asks Grok to modify images by tagging the AI chatbot in a reply. It is possible the feature is still in development which is why Musk or anybody from xAI has yet to publicly talk about this addition.

Grok AI has become a rival to ChatGPT and Gemini with a host of features, including the ability to generate AI images. But the AI model became a nuisance recently when people were randomly able to summon the AI chatbot to generate or modify anybody’s image wearing a bikini or even making them nude with a simple prompt.

That’s not all, these were publicly shared which meant millions could see the explicit images and women were aghast at the behaviour of the Musk-owned AI chatbot.

To make matters worse, as highlighted by a cyber hate watchdog, Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), Grok AI is recorded to have generated around 3 million images of women in bikini and other explicit nature.

Grok was generously obliging to these requests and eventually it prompted authorities from across the globe to intervene and demand that Musk and xAI stop the AI model from being misused.

Elon Musk’s Grok is a factory for the production of sexual abuse material," as said by Imran Ahmed, chief executive at CCDH. “By deploying AI without safeguards, Musk enabled the creation of an estimated 23,000 sexualized images of children in two weeks, and millions more images of adult women, " the body further added in its report.
