Amit Malviya said Rahul Gandhi's repeated visits to Bihar and the full activism of Congress clearly indicate that Congress does not want to remain dependent on the RJD.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said his party wants to join the Mahagathbandhan for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
The Hyderabad MP said the AIMIM has written a letter to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, seeking six seats to contest.
“Now it’s up to them to decide. If they don’t agree, then the people of Bihar will see who is actually with the BJP. We have made every effort. The rest will be clear once the list is released," he said.
In 2020 polls, AIMIM won five seats in Bihar’s Seemanchal region. However, four AIMIM MLAs later defected to the RJD.
Meanwhile, the BJP hinted at a rift between the RJD and Congress over the chief ministerial face. The BJP alleged that Congress does not want to declare Tejashwi Yadav as the Mahagathbandhan CM face.
BJP leader and Patna MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Bihar is aimed at securing more seats from the RJD. He also said Congress has still not officially stated that Tejashwi will be the Chief Minister.
BJP leader Amit Malviya also said there seems to be a general consensus among Congress and its Mahagathbandhan allies that Tejashwi will never be declared the CM face.
“The Congress CWC meeting in Bihar has brought several messages for the Mahagathbandhan. Firstly, this meeting was attended by the same Congress leaders who have continuously insulted Bihar and its people and made derogatory remarks. The Congress CWC meeting, happening for the first time in Bihar since independence, is, in fact, the final nail in the coffin of Tejashwi Yadav’s dream of becoming the Chief Minister," he wrote on X.
Malviya said Rahul Gandhi’s repeated visits to Bihar and the full activism of Congress clearly indicate that Congress does not want to remain dependent on the RJD. “It is putting in all its strength to establish itself as a parallel force to RJD in Bihar. This move by Congress is exactly like the one where it distanced itself from the Aam Aadmi Party after the Delhi elections. The same story is being repeated in Bihar, and it is clear that RJD and Congress may take separate paths even before the elections. This division is certain after the elections," he said.
Both coalitions —the ruling NDA and the Mahagathbandhan— have not yet announced seat-sharing agreements. Elections in Bihar are likely to take place in October-November.
