Vice President JD Vance on Monday congratulated Sergio Gor as he began his first day as the United States Ambassador to India, offering words of encouragement on social media.

Vance made the comment while reposting Gor’s post on X. “Congrats, Mr. Ambassador. You’ll do a great job!" he wrote.

Gor had shared a message marking the start of his new role in New Delhi. “Namaste! Today marks my first day at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. I am honored to join this dedicated team and eager to get to work advancing President Donald Trump’s priorities and deepening the U.S.-India partnership," Gor wrote.

The US ambassador-designate added that he was optimistic about the future of ties between the two nations under President Trump’s leadership.
