Federal immigration agents used tear gas and other crowd-control measures against protesters in Minneapolis, according to footage circulating online, as demonstrations continued following the fatal shooting of a woman by an immigration officer last week.
Video shared by FreedomNewsTV on Monday showed federal agents deploying tear gas as protesters gathered near a federal facility in the city. The incident came amid rising tensions over immigration enforcement operations and an expanding federal response in Minnesota.

The Department of Homeland Security said the deployment followed repeated confrontations between protesters and federal agents. According to DHS, demonstrators threw objects at vehicles and attempted to block access to federal buildings, prompting agents to intervene to protect personnel and property.
The protests were triggered by the killing of Renee Nicole Good, 37, who was shot by an immigration officer during an enforcement operation last week. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has defended the officer’s actions, describing Good as a “violent" agitator and saying the agent acted in self-defence — claims disputed by Minnesota’s Democratic leadership.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have called for a full and independent investigation, saying video from the scene appears to show Good’s vehicle turning away from the officer and posing no immediate threat.
Despite calls from local leaders to scale back federal activity, the Trump administration has moved to reinforce its presence. Noem said hundreds more agents were being sent to Minneapolis to allow immigration officers to carry out operations “safely," brushing aside demands to withdraw federal forces.
US President Donald Trump has also backed the crackdown, describing protesters as “professional agitators" and arguing that law enforcement should not be forced to tolerate disruptions during immigration operations.
Since the shooting, protests have continued in Minneapolis and other cities, with demonstrators demanding accountability and an end to aggressive immigration enforcement tactics. Federal authorities say investigations into the incident are ongoing, while critics have raised concerns over the use of force and the exclusion of local agencies from the probe.
