The White House on Saturday surprised social media users with an unconventional Valentine’s Day post, releasing a series of politically themed digital cards that feature international figures and key moments from current US politics, including one centred on former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

In a post on X captioned “Made just for you", the White House shared a series of digital cards using political imagery and satire linked to key moments from the current US presidency.

One card showed detained former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blindfolded and wearing a grey tracksuit, framed in red colour.

The image of Maduro was taken after his capture by US armed forces during a midnight military operation and showed him handcuffed and blindfolded. US special forces brought him to New York in January following the coordinated operation.

The photo with Maduro was paired with the message “You captured my heart."

Another card featured US President Donald Trump holding a document labeled “Executive Order 4547", accompanied by the message “UR My Valentine."

A third card featured a widely circulated image of Senator Chris Van Hollen “sipping margaritas" with an alleged MS-13 gang member, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in El Salvador. The photo was framed in a heart and carried the caption: “My love for you is as strong as Democrats’ love for illegal aliens," the New York Post reported.

The White House also shared a separate card featuring Greenland. It displayed a map of the Arctic island inside a heart, along with the line, “It’s time we define our situationship."

The reference points to long-standing interest by Donald Trump and his aides in Greenland’s strategic importance in US foreign policy, an idea that has drawn strong opposition from local residents and European leaders.

According to a previous New York Post report, the White House’s online content and satirical messaging are largely devised by Donald Trump, along with Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino and Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr.
