Waaree Energies starts commercial production on 1.10 GW solar inverter line in Gujarat

Mumbai-based battery manufacturing company Waaree Energies Ltd on Wednesday (September 30) said its wholly owned subsidiary Waaree Power Private Ltd has commenced commercial production of a new solar inverter manufacturing line with an annual installed capacity of 1.10 GW.

Commercial production on the new line commenced at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Following the commissioning of the new line, Waaree Power's aggregate annual installed capacity for solar inverter manufacturing has increased to 4.15 GW from 3.05 GW. The company said the new manufacturing line is located at its Sarodhi facility in Valsad, Gujarat.

Last week, Waaree Energies said its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Ltd (WCES), has entered India's specialty gases business and plans to supply ultra-high-purity gases and chemicals to semiconductor and solar cell manufacturers across the country.

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions is building a specialty gases plant at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat, as it develops a domestic supply network for high-purity process gases and chemicals used in semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing.

The company said India's expansion in chip and electronics manufacturing under the Semicon India 2.0 programme is driving the requirement for these gases and chemicals, which are still largely imported. WCES said its specialty gases business is being developed to provide domestic supply across India.

The business will be built in phases. The plans include specialty gases warehousing, with multi-purpose storage and handling infrastructure designed to semiconductor-grade safety and purity standards.

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions will also set up a dedicated ultra-high-purity ammonia purification unit for semiconductor-grade ammonia and a phosphine/hydrogen (PH₃/H₂) mixing plant for precision gas blends used in doping and deposition processes.

Shares of Waaree Energies Ltd ended at ₹2,370.00, down by ₹25.00, or 1.04%, on the BSE.
