Stock Market Highlights: The markets are in the second half of the midweek session, with caution continuing to dominate trade. Despite the start of the October series, the overall trend remains largely unchanged. The Nifty is trading around the 22,700 mark, while the Nifty Bank is making strong gains, rising nearly 400 points and moving above 54,000. TCS, Tech Mahindra and ICICI Bank are among the top gainers.

Stock Market Highlights: The market failed to hold its recovery on the final trading session of September, with the Nifty ending 96 points lower at 22,620, while the Sensex slipped 49 points to 72,480. The Nifty Bank outperformed, rising 373 points to 54,633, while the Midcap index gained 13 points to 59,332.
Banks saw buying ahead of quarterly updates, with ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank among the banking heavyweights supporting the market, gaining 2% each. IT stocks also closed largely in the green, with Wipro and TCS among the top gainers, while the Nifty Auto index rose 0.5%.
Hospital stocks came under pressure after the Supreme Court questioned steep mark-ups, with stocks falling up to 7%. Insurance stocks also extended losses, with SBI Life, Max Financial and PB Fintech declining up to 3%. Pharma stocks moved lower as well, with Glenmark falling 4%.
Elsewhere, Solar Industries ended among the top midcap gainers, rising nearly 6%, while ICICI Lombard surged 5% following its FY29 guidance release. BSE ended 3% lower on its first day of inclusion in the Nifty. Adroit and Swastika made strong debuts, while Armee and Elevate declined.
Market breadth remained neutral, with the advance-decline ratio at 1:1.
