Locals in Karachi's Orangi Town stormed the Sunshine Rehab Centre, freeing more than 100 people with drug addiction. The angry mob damaged property and attacked staff, reportedly upset over repeated complaints of theft and crime in the area.

A violent mob attacked the Sunshine Rehabilitation Centre in Orangi Town, Karachi and allegedly freed 127 patients who were undergoing treatment for drug addiction, as reported by ARY News. The attackers damaged the property, beat up the staff, and even targeted a police mobile van parked outside the centre.
The rehab centre has been operated by Sindh Police officer Abdul Khaliq Ansari. The number of staff members on duty during the attack was around 10 to 12, who were taking care of the patients.
After the incident, the centre administration submitted a formal complaint to the police.
According to preliminary police investigations, the attack was triggered by anger amongst local residents.
"Neighbours had been accusing the patients of theft and other criminal activities, which allegedly prompted the mob action," said the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mominabad Police Station, as quoted by ANI.
DRUG ADDICT MURDERS THREE MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY
In a separate case incident a drug addict murdered three members of his own family in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The victims included his brother, sister-in-law, and a child, according to ARY News. Two other family members were injured in the attack.
Police said that the suspect, who is a drug addict himself, was also injured during the incident and has been arrested. "The bodies and injured persons were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively," said police officials. An investigation is underway.
