Turkey acknowledged the role played by international actors in facilitating ceasefire and extended “appreciation to all countries, in particular the US” for their contributions.

Both Turkey and Azerbaijan stood by Pakistan when the India-Pakistan tensions escalated.
As India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire agreement following days of escalating hostilities, key international players Azerbaijan and Turkey issued statements welcoming the development and calling for a renewed focus on dialogue and stability in the region.
In a formal statement, Azerbaijan expressed its support for the ceasefire between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, describing it as a positive step toward easing regional tensions.
“We express our hope that this ceasefire will contribute to the reduction of tensions in the region, as well as to the establishment of lasting peace and stability," the Azerbaijani government said. It also urged both nations to “engage in productive dialogue aimed at resolving outstanding issues and building mutual trust."
Turkey echoed similar sentiments, welcoming the declaration of the ceasefire and emphasizing the importance of seizing this moment to foster direct and constructive communication.
“We call on the parties to make maximum use of the opportunity provided by the ceasefire to establish a direct and healthy dialogue," Turkey’s statement read. It also stressed the need to establish dialogue mechanisms, particularly in counter-terrorism, to prevent future escalations and ensure long-term peace in South Asia.
Additionally, Turkey acknowledged the role played by international actors in facilitating the ceasefire and extended “appreciation to all countries, in particular the USA," for their contributions.
The statements come as global attention remains fixed on South Asia, where tensions between India and Pakistan had spiked after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s subsequent military response under Operation Sindoor. With the ceasefire now in effect, the international community appears to be rallying behind efforts to sustain calm and promote meaningful dialogue between the two nations.
