Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 7 model has gotten lighter but how does it handle the durable folding test?

200,000 folds is a lot to handle for the Z Fold 7. Does it survive?

200,000 folds is a lot to handle for the Z Fold 7. Does it survive?

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 version has become lighter and thinner than ever before. The new fold is easy on the pocket (size-wise) and the dimensions make it easy to use with one hand. But has that sleekness come at the cost of durability?

One YouTuber decided to test the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with around 200,000 folds using hands in real time to see if the foldable can last these rough challenges and still work as normal. IT Tech is the channel that has tried out this ambitious test and even decided to tell its viewers how the Fold handles thousands of folds at every interval.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultimate Change: Does It Win?

The YouTuber claimed that the Z Fold 7 rebooted between 6,000 and 10,000 folds without giving the exact reason. Then, around 75,000 folds, they noticed a liquid coming out from the hinge mechanism of the foldable which is never a good sign.

The foldable started making a crackling sound by the time the Fold 7 reached 100,000 folds. And just a few thousands of folds later, the crease on the screen started becoming more visible. Having said that, the platform said despite all these issues, the foldable was working in normal condition.

He did notice the speakers on the Fold 7 fail around the 175,000 mark but did notice the device working and surviving the total of 200,000 folds. These tests can be subjective, based on how many folds you handle in a day but the person actually putting it through a real life test shows you the improved durability of the Z Fold 7 which can handle a few years of these folds quite easily.

The new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced at Rs 1,74,999 in India and you get it in a shiny blue colour this year. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, gets 120Hz LTPO displays on both sides, and features a new 200MP primary camera. The device has gotten thinner but the 4,400mAh battery will have some people worried about its efficiency in daily usage.
