Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After losing steam, the Nifty index has bounced back, roaring with a rise of over 100 points. The Defence stocks have rose from the fall and then declined, highlighting the volatility.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After starting on a strong note, the indices quickly slipped and lost the opening highs. The Nifty index, after surging by more than 70 points, is falling towards red, trading below 25,500.
The Sensex index also started the day in a strong position before quickly losing steam.
Metal stocks rose in the opening hours. The shares of Nykaa and D-Mart are in focus. Nykaa shares decline by over 4% after a major block deal. The broader markets are also trading with minimal movement, as smallcap and midcap indices trade flat.
Apart from the weekly options expiry, the market will also have to react to a trade deal signed between the US and Vietnam overnight, which puts India's apparel stocks, like Gokaldas Exports, among others, in the spotlight.
Also, watch out for stocks like Vedanta, as its demerger may face delays, while Nykaa may see a block deal. Multiple stocks like Avenue Supermarts, Indian Bank, PNB, V2 Retail will be reacting to their business updates for the quarter.
