Vodafone reported a 15% year-on-year increase in average revenue per user (ARPU) to ₹177 in the first quarter of FY26, compared with ₹154 in the corresponding period last year. Shares of Vodafone Idea Ltd ended at ₹6.15, down by ₹0.22 or 3.45% on the BSE.
Telecom service provider Vodafone Idea Ltd on Thursday, August 14, reported a net loss of ₹6,608 crore for the first quarter of FY26, compared with a loss of ₹6,432 crore in the same quarter last year. On a sequential basis, the net loss narrowed from ₹7,166 crore reported in the fourth quarter of FY25.
The company reported revenue from operations of ₹11,022.5 crore for this quarter, a 5% increase from ₹10,508 crore year-on-year. On a sequential basis, revenue was marginally higher compared with ₹11,013 crore reported in the fourth quarter of FY25.
There was a 15% YoY increase in average revenue per user (ARPU) to ₹177 in the first quarter of FY26, compared with ₹154 in the corresponding period last year.

Capital expenditure for the quarter stood at ₹2,440 crore. As of June 30, 2025, debt from banks was ₹1,930 crore, while the company’s cash and bank balance stood at ₹6,830 crore.
The 4G/5G subscriber base rose to 127.4 million from 126.7 million in Q1FY25. The company’s 4G coverage expanded to approximately 84% of the population, with 4G data capacity increasing by about 36% and 4G speeds rising by around 24% compared with March 2024.
Vodafone Idea also announced a strategic partnership with AST SpaceMobile to provide direct-to-device satellite broadband connectivity in remote areas lacking terrestrial networks.

Vodafone Idea said its subscriber decline was restricted to 0.5 million during the first quarter of FY26, around 90% lower compared with the loss of about five million subscribers each in the second and third quarters of the previous financial year. The company described this as its strongest performance since the merger.
The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of Vodafone Idea Ltd ended at ₹6.15, down by ₹0.22 or 3.45%, on the BSE today (August 14).
