Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index is up over 190 points as the index rises above 24,800. The Sensex index is up nearly 650 points, rising to 80,900. Shriram Fin, Tata Motors, Trent, Kotak Bank and Bajaj Auto shares are among the gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty has kick-started the new month on a relatively positive note. The 50-stock index is up nearly 200 points, pushing itself towards 24,850.
The Sensex is up over 650 points, as the 30-stock index climbs to the 80,950 mark. The Nifty Bank index is also putting up a fight, with a near 600-point rise in its total value, surging past the benchmark 55,000 mark.
Some of the biggest gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks are Sun TV, HUDCO, NMDC, Tata Invest, Pfizer, and Lupin.
This development comes after the RBI governor, in his MPC policy address, retained interest rates, in addition to retaining the monetary policy stance to Neutral.
The Nifty has been under pressure after falling for 8 sessions straight. The last time the Nifty declined for eight days in a row was between February 18 and March 4 this year, when it fell for 10 straight sessions.
