Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is the weekly options expiry session of the NSE contracts. The Nifty 50 has begun the week on a positive note, carrying on from last Friday's late reversal. The index closed above the 26,000 mark on Monday, but sustaining the same will be the key for the bulls, who would be pleased that the index closed at the day's high. Indian equities have a lot of data points to react to ahead of today's session.
First, being White House Economic Adviser Kevin Hassett's interview to CNBC, where he called the US-India relationship "complicated" but expressed optimism that a deal between the two countries would be reached soon.
The second is the sell-off on Wall Street overnight ahead of results from Nvidia and the US jobs report from September later in the week. Lastly, with earnings done for, block deals are back and stocks like Mphasis, Paytm and Emcure Pharma may see blocks worth nearly ₹7,000 crore today.
For the Nifty, that's on a six-day winning streak, 25,850 - 25,900 may now act as a support, while for the Nifty Bank, sustaining above 59,000 may open doors for a move towards 60,000.
