The Nifty Bank has recovered from the lows and is now up 100 points. Infosys, Tata Consumer, and HCL Tech are the top losers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Live Updates: It is past noon at Dalal Street, and the markets are under the pump yet again, and the indices are crashing further. The Nifty is down nearly 130 points, falling below the 22,600 mark. The Sensex is down over 500 points, falling below the 72,900 mark.
The country's biggest IPO in history, Jio Platforms is set to make its stock market debut today.
The Nifty continues to find supply at the 22,800 mark on the upside and that is one level the bulls would want to cross at the start of the series to get back towards the 23,000 mark. On the downside, the 22,650 - 22,700 zone is turning out to be a support cluster for the index.
The Nifty Bank though, has now dropped below the 54,000 mark and in case it does not claw its way back towards that level, there could be a risk of further declines towards the 53,500 level as well.
