M K Sons Fine Jewels IPO: What brokerages recommend
Brokerage views on the issue are mixed. SBI Securities has assigned a ‘Neutral’ rating, saying it would prefer to track the company’s performance for a few quarters after listing before taking a more positive view.
The brokerage identified the proposed showroom in Maharashtra, expansion of the Ahmedabad showroom and the growth of organised jewellery retail as potential drivers of future growth. However, it flagged the company’s dependence on its flagship showroom on Ahmedabad’s CG Road, exposure to gold price volatility and high working capital requirements as key risks.
At the upper price band of ₹162 per share, SBI Securities said the issue is valued at 17.6 times its post-issue price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple.
Anand Rathi, on the other hand, has recommended subscribing to the IPO for the long term. The brokerage said the company’s customer-focused retail model and cluster-based showroom expansion strategy could help strengthen its regional presence and expand its customer base.
However, Anand Rathi also highlighted the company’s dependence on third-party vendors and its geographically concentrated operations as factors investors should monitor. At the upper end of the price band, the brokerage valued M K Sons Fine Jewels at 17.76 times FY26 earnings and 11.7 times FY26 enterprise value to EBITDA, describing the issue as reasonably priced.
IPO structure and use of proceeds
The IPO comprises 1.7 crore equity shares and is structured as a fresh issue of 1.36 crore shares and an offer for sale of 34 lakh shares by the promoter.
At the upper end of the price band, the fresh issue is worth ₹220.32 crore, while the OFS component amounts to ₹55.08 crore. The fresh issue proceeds will go to the company, whereas the OFS proceeds will accrue to the selling shareholder.
M K Sons Fine Jewels plans to use ₹152.8 crore of the net proceeds to establish a new showroom in Maharashtra and expand an existing showroom in Gujarat. Another ₹30 crore has been earmarked for debt repayment, with the balance intended for general corporate purposes.
In the unofficial grey market, M K Sons Fine Jewels shares were reportedly commanding a premium of nearly 6% over the upper end of the issue price band, according to InvestorGain.
Grey market premiums are unofficial indicators of investor interest before listing. They can fluctuate sharply and do not guarantee the price at which a stock will list.
