Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are under immense pressure, with the Nifty index falling over 150 points, dropping to 24,250. The Nifty Bank is down 300 points, falling to 57,800. Jio Finance, Asian Paints and Shriram Finance are the top losers today.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: While Dalal Street began to look forward to the start of the earnings season, another spate of attacks in West Asia and the subsequent rebound in crude prices may dampen sentiments. However, despite the 6% overnight jump in Brent crude, prices remain below the $80 a barrel mark.
The Nifty enters mid-week trade having snapped a four-day winning streak, as expiry-related factors led to the markets ending lower on Tuesday. The underperformance of the Nifty Bank has weighed on the index.
While the 24,482 to 24,530 zone has now emerged as a new congestion point for the Nifty, it still managed a higher-high and a higher-low on Tuesday. The Nifty Bank too remains above the 58,000 mark, although that level will be key to defend on the downside.
