Trump was seen dozing off during an Oval Office event and in a limousine, sparking health concerns and media debate, while the White House denied he was sleeping.

US President Donald Trump has reportedly been caught dozing off at an Oval Office announcement and also inside a presidential limousine.

During an announcement on Thursday about cutting prices for popular weight-loss drugs, Trump’s eyes appeared closed, sometimes seemed to struggle to keep them open and even rubbed his eyes at points, CNN reported.

The Daily Beast on Saturday cited a video showing the 79-year-old President allegedly dozing off inside a limo.

In a footage, Trump could be seen climbing down the Air Force One at a cautious pace and then collapsing in exhaustion into a waiting limousine.

Following these incidents, the press office for California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted images from the event and wrote: “DOZY DON IS BACK".

In response, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in a statement to CNN that “the President was not sleeping; in fact, he spoke throughout and took many questions from the press during this announcement which represents a historic reduction in prices for Americans on two drugs that help Americans struggling with diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and other conditions. This announcement by President Trump will save a significant amount of money and countless American lives, and yet the failing, liberal media want to push a garbage narrative instead of covering it."

According to CNN, questions about Trump’s health have persisted since he took office as the oldest man ever inaugurated to the job. Last month, the President said that he received an MRI during a physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center without mentioning why.

Previously, the White House had said doctors have examined Trump for swelling in his legs and diagnosed him with chronic venous insufficiency.

The latest incidents of Trump dozing off comes in contrast of him criticizing former President Joe Biden for the lack of vigour and named him “Sleepy Joe" in last year’s elections. Biden, the oldest president in history, was previously seen at moments closing his eyes during public events.
