“Every action of Pakistan is to humiliate Afghan people and Taliban. Pakistan is creating manmade crisis to insult Afghans,” said sources

With both nations heavily armed and on edge, sources indicate that a full-fledged conflict along the Durand Line could erupt at any moment.

Pakistan is using deportation for political blackmail, turning women, children and residents into bargaining chips to pressure Afghanistan to act against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), said sources close to Taliban’s acting minister of interior affairs Sirajuddin Haqqani amid the crisis between the two countries.

“Pakistan is doing mass deportations and border blackmail to cross-border strikes. It is waging an economic and humanitarian war on Afghanistan," said sources, adding, “Every action of Pakistan is to humiliate Afghan people and Taliban. Pakistan is creating manmade crisis to insult Afghans."

Pakistan and Afghanistan exchanged heavy gunfire at multiple points along their shared border late Friday, officials from both sides confirmed, marking one of the most serious flare-ups since the Taliban took power in 2021.

“Afghan leaders across party lines are united in anti-Pakistan sentiment. They are looking at Islamabad as an abusive neighbour not an ally. The Afghans upset because of Pakistan’s inhuman tactics. They are upset over refugee expulsion, economic blackmail, and illegal strikes," said sources.

The detentions, midnight arrests, separation of children, demolition of Afghan homes, and confiscation of property are systematic and driven by Pakistan’s ISI.

“The repeated shutdowns at Torkham and Spin Boldak have choked Afghanistan’s food, fuel, and medical supplies. This is causing inflation and millions in trade losses," said sources.

“The PAF strikes in Khost, Kunar, Paktika between 2022 and 2025 killed civilians and violated Afghan territory without apology, proof, or accountability," they said.

According to Afghanistan, Pakistan is not participating in negotiation and has no joint security plan. “It is only giving threats, blame, and indulging in unilateral action to force Taliban for compliance on TTP issues," sources said.

Pakistan shut Torkham for nine days in September 2024 and blocked more than 2,000 cargo trucks. Spin Boldak was closed again in May 2025, causing fuel and medicine shortages in Kandahar. Afghan traders estimate $65-70 million trade loss per closure cycle

“Pakistan launched a crackdown during Afghan winter, pushing thousands into freezing border zones without food, shelter, or medical support. The Pak-Afghan Torkham Crossing has been closed for the past 60 consecutive days. On borders, only returning Afghan refugee families are being allowed to cross, while traders, students, and regular travelers remain stopped," they said.

Around 85,000 Afghan nationals and refugees have returned during this period as the closure continues to affect daily life and regional movement.

Pakistan’s newly appointed armed forces chief recently called on Afghanistan’s Taliban government to choose between maintaining ties with Islamabad or supporting the Pakistani Taliban, the militant group blamed for a surge in deadly attacks in recent years.

General Asim Munir made his remarks at his headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, where he received a guard of honor from all three branches of the military, marking the launch of Pakistan’s new joint military command. His appointment was confirmed last week in what officials said would improve coordination among the army, navy and air force, amid shifting regional security dynamics.
