Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that security measures at Israeli embassies worldwide will be intensified after two Israeli embassy staff members were killed in a shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC.

In a statement from his office, Benjamin Netanyahu expressed shock at the “horrifying antisemitic murder," noting that he had been briefed on the details by the Israeli ambassador to the US and US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who assured him that America would ensure justice is served. Thanking US President Donald Trump for his strong stance against antisemitism, he said, “We are witnessing the terrible price of antisemitism and the wild incitement against the State of Israel. The blood libels against Israel are costing us lives and must be fought relentlessly."

He added, “My heart aches for the families of the young couple whose lives were brutally cut short by a despicable antisemitic murderer. I have ordered enhanced security measures at Israeli diplomatic missions globally and for state representatives."

World Leaders React To Israel Embassy Staff Killings

Top US and Israeli leaders expressed shock and outrage over the incident. Condemning the attack, Donald Trump said, “These horrible D.C. killings, clearly based on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. My condolences to the victims’ families. It is tragic that such events can occur! God Bless You ALL."

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that authorities would “track down those responsible" for the fatal shooting of the two Israeli embassy staffers. “This was a cowardly, antisemitic act of violence. Make no mistake: we will find those responsible and bring them to justice," he posted on X.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said, “This despicable act of antisemitism has claimed the lives of two young employees of the Israeli embassy. Our hearts are with the loved ones of those murdered, and we are praying for the injured. I extend my full support to the Ambassador and all embassy staff," he said.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations condemned the killings as a “depraved act of antisemitic terrorism". “Attacking diplomats and the Jewish community crosses a red line. We trust that US authorities will take decisive action against those responsible for this criminal act," Ambassador Danny Danon wrote on X.
