Israel-Iran War Live Updates: Iran launched ballistic missiles towards northern Israel hours after Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut's southern suburbs. Air raid sirens sounded across several areas of Israel as the military detected incoming missiles and activated air defence systems. The Israeli military said all missiles launched from Iran were intercepted and there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The attack marked Iran's first direct strike on Israel since a ceasefire took effect on April 8 and came after repeated Iranian warnings that any Israeli attack on Beirut would trigger retaliation. The missile launches followed Israeli strikes on Beirut's Dahiyeh district, a Hezbollah stronghold, which drew angry response from Tehran. Iran's Revolutionary Guards later said they targeted Israel's Ramat David Air Base with ballistic missiles launched by the IRGC Aerospace Force. Iranian military officials accused Israel of crossing "all red lines" by attacking Beirut's southern suburbs and expanding operations in southern Lebanon. "We had previously warned that if the crime in the suburbs of Beirut spreads, we will attack targets in the occupied territories," a commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya forces said. He added that the Israeli army "must stop its attacks on southern Lebanon and the suburbs" or face "more crushing and regrettable blows". Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also warned that Tehran "will not only halt the path of negotiations, but we will also be in direct confrontation with the enemy" if attacks continue. He accused the United States and Israel of undermining ceasefire efforts and said American and Israeli assets in the region could become legitimate targets. The latest escalation has further complicated US-Iran diplomacy and raised fears of a broader regional conflict.
