Thick smoke was seen rising over Parand, near Iran’s capital Tehran, on Wednesday, with reports of an explosion circulating on social media. Local residents said the haze lingered for more than two hours.
Iranian officials, however, denied any security incident, saying the smoke was caused by a fire in nearby scrubland.
The visuals surfaced amid reports of multiple blasts across Iran, including in Bandar Abbas and Ahvaz, as regional tensions remain elevated.
The exact cause of the incident remains unverified, and News18 could not independently verify the video at the time of publishing.
