A 22-year-old Sikh nurse was left with a broken nose after being brutally attacked in a racial assault at a gym in Geelong, Melbourne, on Tuesday night.
Harmanpreet Singh told media that he was confronted by three men while training inside a gym in Corio at around 11 pm. The men verbally abused him, but the ordeal continued outside the gym.
As he left, the trio was waiting for him. “They called me an ‘Indian dog’ and told me to go back to where I came from," Harmanpreet told Australian news outlet, 9News.
One of the men then banged his head on Harmanpreet’s nose, causing it to break and bleed heavily. “He got really close to my face and then just got really back and hit his head on my nose," he added. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the assault.
