Canadian PM has expressed his dissatisfaction on Trump's tariff announcement
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his disappointment with US President Donald Trump’s imposition of tariff in a post on X.
“While the Canadian government is disappointed by this action, we remain committed to CUSMA, which is the world’s second-largest free trade agreement by trading volume," Carney wrote as the US raised the tariffs on Canadian goods to 35 per cent from 25 per cent.
He further also said that the government will take action to protect Canadian jobs, invest in our industrial competitiveness, and diversify export markets.
“For such sectors, the Canadian government will act to protect Canadian jobs, invest in our industrial competitiveness, buy Canadian, and diversify our export markets," he said.
