China on Monday reiterated its opposition to the use or threat of force in Venezuela, with Beijing’s envoy to India warning against any country acting as a “world policeman" or “international judge" amid the rapidly evolving situation in the South American nation.

In a post on X, Yu Jing cited remarks by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, saying China does not believe any country has the right to impose its will on another. The statement said Beijing opposes both the use of force and attempts to dictate outcomes in other countries.

“China always opposes the use or threat of force, as well as any imposition of one country’s will on another," the post said, adding that such actions undermine peace and stability.

The comments came against the backdrop of heightened international reactions following the US military operation in Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

The envoy’s remarks echoed Beijing’s long-standing opposition to foreign military intervention and regime change, positions China has repeatedly articulated in response to US-led actions abroad.

China reacted sharply on January 4 following the US military operation in Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.
