A woman narrowly escaped an explosion during a Russian drone attack on Kyiv, with CCTV footage capturing the moment the blast struck close to her as she walked along a street.
The footage from Friday showed the woman walking through the area when an explosion erupted nearby. She managed to move away as the blast sent debris flying around her.
Another eyewitness video showed people moving cars away from a damaged area following the attack.
Russia launched waves of drones at Kyiv and the surrounding region on Friday for a second consecutive day, damaging homes, warehouses and other facilities.
At least one person was killed outside Kyiv, according to regional Governor Tymur Tkachenko. He said 14 warehouse facilities, 16 homes and three residential buildings were damaged.
Ukraine's state emergency service said the Kyiv region had been attacked 38 times over the previous 24 hours and warned residents to stay away from areas where firefighters were still battling blazes.
The strikes also hit logistics and commercial facilities elsewhere in Ukraine. Nova Poshta, the country's largest private courier company, said its sorting centres near Kyiv and in the northern city of Sumy were destroyed.
In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone struck an Epicenter home-improvement store, injuring at least four people, Governor Ivan Fedorov said.
Air-raid sirens sounded repeatedly across Kyiv on Friday morning, a day after an hours-long Russian missile and drone attack targeted major retailers and consumer logistics facilities in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.
The earlier strikes also disrupted railway services across several regions, delaying trains and leaving passengers stranded for extended periods.
Russia and Ukraine have intensified attacks on logistics and commercial infrastructure in recent weeks as both sides seek to disrupt supply networks and put pressure on each other's economies amid the continuing war.
