Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh To Return To NDA Fold? Likely To Contest Upcoming Bihar Polls

Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh is likely to be sent to the Rajya Sabha by the Democratic Alliance (NDA), sources said.

Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh is speculated to enter Bihar politics ahead of the upcoming polls. On Tuesday, Singh met Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Tawde in the national capital, sparking fresh political discussions.

While sources said that Singh might contest the Bihar Assembly elections on a BJP ticket, it is also speculated that he is  likely to be sent to the Rajya Sabha by the Democratic Alliance (NDA)

Pawan Singh is seeking a ticket for himself and for one or two of his close associates in the Ara and surrounding areas. It has also been learnt that Pawan Singh is likely to meet Amit Shah.

Notably, Singh was suspended last year by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after he contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate against the NDA nominee.

Reports also stated that Singh might return to the NDA fold as he met Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha at his Delhi residence, sparking the news of his political activity.

Pawan Singh has long been considered a supporter of the NDA. He has appeared several times at events organised by the BJP and its allies. His entry into the high-stakes Bihar polls is being considered as a significant advantage for the NDA camp.

In 2024, Pawan contested as an independent candidate from Karakat. However, he lost the polls to Rajaram Singh Kushwaha of CPI-ML. He was expelled from the BJP after he announced his candidature against the NDA candidate as an Independent.
