Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are also responding to the scene.

Further details on casualties or the status of those inside the building were not immediately available.
An active shooting incident and a vehicle ramming at a synagogue in Michigan prompted a police response on Thursday, FBI Director Kash Patel said, as a fire was also reported at the scene. Patel described the incident as an “apparent vehicle ramming and active shooter situation" at Temple Israel, one of the largest Reform synagogues in the United States.
The incident took place at the Temple Israel Synagogue in the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Aerial news footage from over the synagogue showed plumes of smoke rising from the roof of the building as large numbers of police and fire vehicles converged at the scene.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives responded to the shooting. The Jewish Federation of Detroit said in a statement, “We are aware of an active security incident at Temple Israel. Law enforcement are responding. Our Jewish agencies are currently in precautionary lockdown."
The suspected gunman, who rammed a vehicle into the synagogue, was shot dead by security, a person familiar with the matter told the Associated Press. Investigators are still working to identify the man and a possible motive for the attack.
Temple Israel describes itself as the largest Reform synagogue in the country, with approximately 12,000 members. The synagogue operates an early childhood education centre and runs educational programmes for families and adults.
