Chicago Shooting: Chicago witnessed a deadly drive-by shooting late Wednesday night in the city’s River North area, leaving four people dead from gunshot wounds and at least 14 others hospitalised, authorities said on Thursday. Police confirmed that three of the injured were in critical condition.

The incident reportedly took place outside a restaurant and lounge that had just hosted an album release event for a rapper, according to multiple media reports.

A vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire on a crowd gathered outside before speeding away, police said. No arrests have been made so far.

Chris King, a representative for Northwestern Medicine, stated that the hospital’s emergency department was treating several victims from the incident but did not disclose the exact number or their conditions.

The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement searches for the suspects involved in the shooting.
